Parents of a high school class in Hungary are upset that the class’s teacher (described as an attractive twenty-something female) stripped down to her underwear at a school party, on a dare.  

The students are upset that another teacher stepped in and stopped the show; apparently, she was giving no indication that she was planning on stopping.  

Clearly, I went to the wrong schools.

(No, she’s not being fired.  The principal, after carefully and extensively reviewing video of the incident, ruled that it was just “a bit of fun“).  Also, applications to the school have quadrupled.  Okay, that last sentence was a joke.

Two worthy enough goals, right?

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland Police took a waterfront Lady Godiva down a notch this week. Barely. They were getting calls about a nude skater whizzing past tourists and rush-hour commuters.

But you can do that in Oregon, where occasional nude bike rides draw police only for crowd control and shows featuring live sex acts are protected as free speech.

The skater, Gennifer Moss, aka Earth Friend Gen, asked organizers for permission this summer to skate naked in the city of Ashland’s Fourth of July parade. She didn’t get it.

Police told her to tone it down after construction workers complained.

Moss donned a string bikini bottom for the nonce and skated on.

Police say most callers are concerned about her safety.

Wait — construction workers are complaining about naked women?  What’s the world coming to?

We were pretty much finished anyway, which was fortunate.

Josephette’s hands were bound in polyester scarves and tied to the frame.  Of the couch.  In the TV room.  I was still using her favorite dildo on her, though we were pretty much done with the second vibrator.

Myself, I had finished earlier — and really, so had she.  Ten minutes prior, she had been screaming, arching her back, gasping for breath.  Now, though, the screaming was done.  She still had the dildo inside, but I was just slowly alternating between the lowest setting and turned off altogether — drawing out the afterglow a little, relaxing, as we cooled off.  We were both dripping with sweat, lying on the couch, naked as jaybirds (unless you count the scarves around her hands), exhausted and euphoric in the rush of post-sex endorphins.

And then came the voice.

“Hello?  Hello?”  It was coming from the front door.  Oh, snap.  We left the front door wide open, didn’t we?

There was a pause, for a second, as we both processed what we had just heard.  Then Josephette slid her hands out of the scarves like Houdini (I had no idea she could do that) and I sat up.

It had been a woman’s voice.  But whose?  We weren’t exactly listening closely when we had heard it.  Was it sister-in-law with her small children, returning the stuff they had borrowed earlier in the day?

“Hello?” came the voice again, and the sound of footsteps.

I still didn’t recognize the voice, but she did.  “It’s C” said Josephette, reaching for a sheet.  I reached to grab a jacket off of the floor.  C was an old college classmate and friend of Josephette’s.  (At least it wasn’t sister-in-law and her preschoolers!)

Footsteps behind us, rounding the corner, then a surprised gasp and laugh.  Josephette had her sheet on — damn, she’s fast — but I hadn’t quite made it to the jacket, and C ended up with a nice view of my ass.  Oops.  Josephette and C — her eyes politely averted — were both laughing as I pulled the jacket on like a loincloth.  I laughed, too.  It was a pretty funny situation.

C is relaxed, not a Mormon, easygoing about sex issues.  She and Josephette have seen each other naked dozens of times, shopping and trying on clothes together (and even I’ve seen her in her underwear before).  Of all the people who could have walked in, she’s definitely one of the best options.  If it had been a visiting teacher, I’m sure scandal would have ensued.

Weirdly, despite Josephette’s proclivities for sex in public places (a topic for another post!), this is the first time we’ve actually been caught having sex.  (We weren’t technically having sex at the moment we were seen, but definitely in the process.)  Josephette’s been caught nude in public before (a topic for another post!), but never in flagrante delicto.  And this time, we were busted in our own house.  Who would have thought?

It made for a funny enough afternoon, though.  C said, giggling, that she had just been dropping by to see if Josephette wanted to go get some lunch.  “I should have called,” she said, as we laughed.  “We wouldn’t have answered,” replied Josephette.  We laughed at C’s perfect timing — if she had arrived five or ten minutes earlier, she would have heard us way before getting to the dining room corner.  And C said that she’d make sure to tell her boyfriend that she got to see my ass.  (Thanks!)

Then C and Josephette headed out for lunch.  “You can come too if you’d like,” C offered.

I declined.  I figure, she wants to gossip with Josephette.  And really, she’s probably seen enough of me for one day.

Today’s New York Times has a great article about the rise in “nakations” — hotels, resorts, and cruises for the clothing-optional. The article notes that:

To many, the mention of a nudist resort conjures up images of isolated beach colonies with volleyball courts, hippie-style gatherings in a secluded campground or R.V. parks tucked away in the woods for vacationers who still talk reverently about the Summer of Love.

And while those kinds of offerings still exist for Mr. Massa and his fellow naturalists, as they prefer to be called, the real boom in nude vacations is coming at the high end of the business, as upscale hotels and resorts, and even some luxury cruise lines, have begun to see the economic potential in the no-clothes crowd — particularly those who want to shed their clothes but not their pampered lifestyles.

The $300-a-person all-inclusive Hidden Beach Resort, a nude-only luxury hotel that opened in 2003 along Mexico’s popular Mayan Riviera, greets guests with Champagne upon arrival. Rose petals are tossed on the beds at turndown, and beach butlers hand out towels and reading materials to guests relaxing in the nude, while they themselves walk around in discreet uniforms of buttoned-down shirts and khaki pants.

Sea Mountain Inn, a two-year old nude resort and spa in Desert Hot Springs, Calif., with room rates ranging from $269 to $900 a night, features Asian-influenced rooms with Egyptian bed linens, flat-screen TVs and natural mineral water pumped into the shower. The upscale Occidental Grand Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands has set aside entire blocks of rooms exclusively for nude guests. And several mainstream hotels, including Caesar’s Palace and the Mirage in Las Vegas, have introduced topless pools in the past couple of years.

The trend seems to be a good one. The vacationers suggest that these vacations offer a chance to connect with nature, with oneself, with one’s partner, in a different and exciting environment.

Today, America’s increasing obsession with health and wellness may be contributing to the rise of clothing-optional vacations. “Americans have moralized healthy bodies,” said Dacher Keltner, a professor of psychology at the University of California at Berkeley, who has studied moral emotion and judgment. He added that “a case could be made that people are traveling to these places to be pure for moral reasons — to achieve harmony in nature.” It’s really a form of self-expression, he added, that dates back to Walt Whitman and John Muir, as well as Thoreau, all of whom advocated being as true to yourself as possible. “The truest you can be is taking off those clothes,” he said.

It’s enough to make you want to book a vacation.
